Passive Energy Designs, LLC was founded by Ryan Abendroth in January 2010 and has been active throughout the Midwest with a focus on the Kansas City and St. Louis, MO regions. In May 2013, Passive Energy Designs was permanatly established in St. Louis, MO.
Passive Energy Designs specializes in energy modeling for high performance buildings using multiple software packages including the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP), THERM, WUFI, and WUFI Passive, among others. Passive Energy Designs understands the need and implication of the envelope assembly and details on the whole building energy efficiency.
Ryan Abendroth is the principal of Passive Energy Designs, LLC, a Missouri based consulting firm specializing in achieving built high-performance and low-energy buildings. He is a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) and an instructor for the Passive House Institute US' CPHC Curriculum. He has also served as a Visiting Professor in the School of Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design. Ryan feels strongly about the ever increasing need for energy efficiency in buildings, and since 2009 he has worked toward furthering the passive house movement as he believes in its ability to transform the conversation about the built environment in the United States.
Ryan holds a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Studies and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
